Ja, das mit den Niederländern zwangsläufige Botanisieren fände ich etwas langweilig. Zuletzt war sowas auf der Pflichtexkursion im Studium gewesen, zusammen mit Carex-Experten.....dann lieber auf eigene Faust in aller Ruhe. Ob noch viele Tulpen im Juni zu sehen sind, weiß ich nicht. Die entsprechende Thementour findet ja gerade jetzt statt, aber ich lass mich überraschen. Hauptsache, es gibt Doldenblüter.
Den Namen und den Link zum Veranstalter gebe ich gerne per PM preis, aber ich sehe nicht ein, dass ich hier für mir noch nicht bekannte Menschen Werbung mache. Dafür gibt es die rüstige Niederländerin Adri de Koning als Kontaktperson, welche mich, sorry, etwas an Fräulein Wurmholz erinnert. In den Mail ist sie sehr nett und lässt sich alles fragen.
In englischen Foren werde ich mich auch nicht extra anmelden. Was denken die wohl, wenn ich als Newbie als erstes Kunden akquiriere?!

Two-week botanical tour in Kyrgyzstan,
Dates: 28/05 -11/06. 2022
28/05: Departure
29/05: Arrival in Bishkek. Transfer to the hotel. After some rest and brunch, trip to Ala-Archa National Park with a hike to the Ak-Say waterfall higher up the gorge. This National Park is an alpine park in the Tien-Shan Mountains. It was given National Park status in 1976 and is located approximately 40km south of the city of Bishkek. The park comprises the gorge of the Ala-Archa River and the mountains surrounding it. It covers about 200 square kilometers and its altitude ranges from about 1,500 meters at the entrance to a maximum of 4,895 meters at Peak Semenov Tien-Shanski, the highest peak in the Kyrgyz Ala-Too range of the Tien-Shan. The flora in this park is very rich and many species typical of an Alpine habitat can be found. In the evening, we return to Bishkek. Stay in hotel Umai.
30/05: From Bishkek to Kochker, first to the Kegeti valley where we have lunch, then continue to Balykchy to see Peganum harmala and amazing parasitic Cynomorum songaricum, stay in new nice hotel in Kochkor.
31/05: From Kochkor over the Dolon Pass to Naryn Town, the main town on the road to the Chinese border (a branch of the ancient Silk Road). The altitude ranges from 1,700 up to 3,010 at Dolon Pass. In the semi-desert, we will see Peganum Harmala, Nitraria Sibirica, whereas, at the pass, we will look for Androsace lechmanniana and Androsace dasyphylla. In Naryn we stay in a guesthouse.
01/06: Day trip to National Park Salkyn-Tor, occupying the area of 10448 hectares. Hike in the territory of the National Park with many plants, birds, insects and animals that are listed in Red Book of Kyrgyzstan. In the evening back to the guesthouse in Naryn.
02/06: After breakfast heading to the South shore of Lake Son-Kul over Moldo-Ashuu Pass (3201m). The slopes of Moldo-Ashuu overgrown with Picea schrenkiana and is rich in flora. Son-Kul Lake is the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan, located at the altitude of 3,100m (warm clothes are absolutely necessary). Here we find the flora of the high mountains such Trollius Komarovii, Smelovskia calycina, Trollius lilacinus and carpets of edelweiss. It is also possible to spot Tulipa dasystemon and Tulipa heterophylla. Stay in a yurt.
03/06: Day in Son-Kul. Hike to the snow edge and look for the flowers of Trollius lilicinus. Stay in yurt at south side of Son-Kul
04/06: We continue over Kara-Keche pass (3384m) down to a coalmine and drive through the gorge along the Kökomeren river. On the way we stop for dry slopes of the gorge to look for Dianthus Kuschakevich and some interesting species of alliums. Stay in a B&B.
05/06: Day in Kyzyl-Oi, walk in the hilly area around Kyzyl-Oi, time to observe agricultural practices, weedy field plants and farm birds. Stay in B&B
06/06: A spectacular drive through a glen to the wide green valley of Suusamyr, then up to Ala-Bel pass (3175m). There we stop on the valley still with some snow to look for Chrosispora sibirica and Oxygraphis glacialis. Arriving on the southern shore of Toktogul water-reservoir. Staying at a holiday complex at the shore.
07/06: Today we drive to Sary Chelek National Park. This national Park is at an altitude between 1200 and 4247 m. at 2000m. We spend the day hiking around the lake and visiting other small lakes in the area. Many endemic endangered species of flora are present in Sary-Chelek reserve such as Hedysarum chaitocarpum, Malus niedzwetzkyana (Niedzwetzky's apple), Pyrus korshinskyi, Sorbus persica, Sorbus turkestanica, Vitus. Stay in B&B
08/06: Day in Sary Chellek. The elevation of the biosphere reserve ranges from 1,200 to 4,247 meters above sea level. Main habitats comprise forests, meadows, steppes, rocks, and screes and some aquatic areas. The central and lower region is strongly dissected and covered by nut-fruit forests with walnut (Juglans regia), apple (Malus spp.), pear (Pyrus spp.) and an understory of Prunus divaricata. Stay in B&B
09/06: Drive back to Chychkan gorge. On the way, we will have botanizing stops at the semi-desert areas of Tash-Komur coal mining area and now and then stop to see Capparis spinosa and wild cherries and endemic species of Convolvulus. Arriving in the Chichkan gorge and late afternoon botanizing in the forest zone with a big variety of plants such as Aquilegia atrovinosa and several genus of Pedicularis, Stay in Oson motel.
10/06: With many serpentines, we climb up the Too-Ashuu (3180m), the only pass with a tunnel (2.6 km). Botanizing before and after the pass on the slopes covered with meadows of Ligularia Alpigena, Pholomoides oreophylla, Trollius dzungaricus. In the afternoon, arrive in Bishkek and visit to Osh bazaar, if wanted, with vegetables, fruits and Kyrgyz traditional clothes. There is also a part, where they sell medical plants. Stay in Umai hotel and farewell dinner.
11/06: Transfer to the airport and departure.
