if I wanted to put color-texture alongside Sorghastrum nutans and Stipa calamagrostis, considering they would fall apart if fertilized, which plants share the same requirements?I can think of:Sedum – Agastache – Echinops – Gaura – V.bonariensis – L.coronaria – Coreopsis – Salvia nemorosa – Achillea –Calamintha n. – Allium – Perovskia – Baptisia – Ratibida – Gaillardia – Euphorbia – Centranthusis it right or you find any error?something else?in the Aster and Geranium family which species or varieties ?which Euphorbia hardy?bulbous plants (geophytes)? ???

I should try all of them except Gaillardia (I don't like them). Hardy Euphorbias: E. cyparissias is vigorous and spreading. Oops...have to go to work...

E. cyparissias is hardy, but if I got it right, moreno has already mentioned it being invasive in his garden. Euphorbia amygdaloides 'Purpurea' is hardy in my 8a garden and behaves fairly properly. I appreciate its purple foliage, which adds weight and balance to lighter colour schemes. In addition to your list, Aster sericeus might be worth trying. I’m gonna try sowing it next spring for its lovely silvery foliage and late flowers. The gravel gardeners here in this forum will know a lot more. :) Ciao,Leo

Ja, das passt alles. Schau auch mal in den Kiesgarten-Thread! Es gibt auch viele Astern und Geranium, die dazu passen.
