die Persicaria amplexicaulis 'Blackfield' und 'Fat Domino' stehen trotz der Hitze im Juni/Juli gut da. 'J. S. Caliente' dazwischen sah ganz furchtbar aus und musste weg. Wuchert und leidet dann, wenn nicht genug Wasser da ist.

so, letzten Donnerstag war es Frühling und die Saison eröffnet. Ich hab was zurückgeschnitten, ausgerissen, gebuddelt und gepflanzt.

Letztes Jahr ging es um den Wuchs von Cornus sanguinea 'Mitwinter Fire', ob man die auf Hochstamm ... Nee und ich wollte Fotos machen und zeigen.

Ich werde die starken Stämme alle zurückschneiden. Die langen schlanken geraden stark gefärbten Zweige gefallen mir besser. Dieses Zickezacke brauch keiner.

Bei den Cornus solltest Du jedes Jahr einige ältere Triebe ( etwa 1/3 ) bis komplett zum Boden abschneiden. So regst Du zum Neuaustrieb von vielen geraden, bunten Neutrieben an. Das habe ich im vorletzten Jahr im Garten meiner Tochter an einem sicher 15 Jahre alten, völlig verwachsenen Exemplar ausprobiert und einige uralte graue Äste ganz unten heraus geschnitten. Es hat funktioniert. In diesem Sommer bekam ich Fotos von schönen, knallroten, kerzengeraden Neutrieben. :D

Falls das selektive Vorgehen für den Wiesengarten zu arbeitsintensiv sein sollte, würde ich einfach alle 3 bis 5 Jahre den gesamten Strauch auf den Stock setzen. Der Lohn sind lauter neue, bunte, gerade Triebe.
Habe allerdings keine wirklich fundierte Ausbildung... ist nur angelesenes Wissen. Da sagt sicher noch ein echter Crack was zu. ;D
