Salvia africana-lutea sieht hervorragend aus. Mit grünem kräftigen dichten Laub. Als ich sie bekam war sie ein spiddeliges Ding und der lehmige Mutterboden, den ich in meine Töpfe fülle hat ihr gut getan. von allen diesen Salbeien kann ich mir am besten Salvia greggii Z8 und dann Salvia africana-lutea im Freien vorstellen. In sehr milden Gegenden.Alle anderen sind für das Kalthaus und mit Z9 eingeordnet.

Salvia guaranitica ist im Sommer blau. Rein klar Blau. Rechtes Bild der jetztzeitige Zustand.
der brandneue Zander meint dazu, dass es jetzt Salvia coerulea sei und aus SE-Brasilien, Uruguai, Paraguai und Argentinien kommen würde. einjährig, Staude und Gehölz, Z9 Kalthaus und in den Sorten 'Blue Enigma' und der von mir begehrten 'Black and Blue' vorkommt.

jetzt kann ich sagen welche Salvien bei mir die Überwinterung im ungeheizten Wintergarten bei kurzzeitigen - 7° C überlebt haben. Wenige.Aber mein Liebling, Salvia patens 'Cambridge' doch:

der weiße und ein mittelblauer Salvia patens sind vertrocknet, verfault, verfroren, oder alles zusammen. Einen mittelblauen habe ich mir wieder bei meinem Lieblingsgärtner gekauft, im Balkonkastensortiment sind sie ja immer vorhanden.

Salvia greggii, Salvia lemmonii, Salvia neurepia und Salvia microphylla sehen alle gleich aus und haben alle überlebt. Sie haben rote oder pinkfarbene Blüten und kleines rundes Laub.

Salvia guaranitica neuerdings Salvia caerulea, ist wirklich lohnenswert, aus einem kleinen Steckling gezogen, kommt gut zur Blüte, überwintert schon das 4. Jahr und wird immer kräftiger. inzwischen habe ich auch bei der Foerster STauden die schöne Sorte Black and Blue bekommen. Sie hat gelbgrünes Laub, schwarze Blütenstengel und Kelche und blaue Blüten. Die Stecklinge davon sind auch schon angegangen, wie mir scheint.

S. patens bildet normalerweise reichlich Samen - die kann man sich immer noch als Backup, für den Fall, dass Mutterpflanze und Stecklinge nicht über den Winter kommen, absammeln. Aus Samen gezogene S.patens blühen bereits Anfangs Juli.Einen mittelblauen habe ich mir wieder bei meinem Lieblingsgärtner gekauft, im Balkonkastensortiment sind sie ja immer vorhanden.
Diese Sorte habe ich dieses Jahr auch. Wirklich sehr schön.Sie bildet nur wenige Samen, aber ich bin fleissig am sammeln.........die schöne Sorte Black and Blue bekommen. Sie hat gelbgrünes Laub, schwarze Blütenstengel und Kelche und blaue Blüten. Die Stecklinge davon sind auch schon angegangen,

Der Brasilianische Salbei, Salvia caerulea ist wirklich eine dankbare Pflanze. Die Sorte Black and Blue hat ausgesprochen schöne schwarze Knospen:
