Stimmt, P. polyblepharum, und bei mir ist 'Plumosum Densum' auch noch trockenheitsverträglich.

Ja, Polysticum setiferum 'Plumosum Densum' hat sich als trockenheits- und relativ sonnenverträglich herausgestellt. Er bekommt aber keine Mittagssonne, denn die hätte ihm im vorigen Jahr sicher den Garaus gemacht.

Der wird groß eigentlich zu groß für meinen Garten aber bei der Sorte ist es mir egal, ist einfach zu schön. :D
Der Kopf hat einen Durchmesser von 30 cm und es ist noch eine junge Pflanze, steht jetzt im fünften Jahr dort.

Hab gerade geguckelt und festgestellt, dass er wohl für unseren Garten leider auch zu groß wird. Dabei ist er den Fotos nach zu urteilen ein fantastischer Farn, wenn er erst ausgewachsen ist!

schön! Ich hab mal gebuddelt. Polystichum munitum. Ein Bild von 2014. Unter der Choisya ternata am stumpery, rechts sieht man den Brockenbruch des Totholzes, unten Sandstein, die Basislage des stumperys. Den Farn habe ich vom Hermannshof.

Polystichum aculeatum am der großen Eiche am Hang unterhalb des Verbindungswegs zwischen den Burgen am Neckar. Im Dezember.

noch mal Polystichum neolobatum, den muss ich noch mal richtig fotografieren, der sitzt zu Fuß einer sehr großen Vogelkirsche zwischen sehr großen Sandsteinblöcken. Ein Bild von 2017.

Das sieht man im Foto sehr gut. Den Terminus "Crozier" sollte man im Deutschen auch gebrauchen.
Außerdem hat dieser Farn einen Henkelpott von der RHS, also ist AGM ausgezeichnet. Dazu wird er als resilient bezeichnet - in irgendeinem meiner amerikanischen Gartenbücher, ich habe nicht notiert welches genau.
Standortklassifizierung: Dry/Wet.

die Weichen Schildfarne, Polystichum setiferum stelle ich mal zurück und zeige wie sich Polystichum x dycei entwickelt hat. Martin Rickard: "Synthesized hybrid (p.poliferum x P.braunii) created by Ann Sleep at Leeds University, and named in honour of great twentieth century fern man, Jimmy Dyce. ... Along with P.munitum probably the largest polystichum for general garden conditions. Sterile but can be propagated from the bulbils. Rare."
Die Bulbillen entnahm ich einem großen Exemplar in einem privaten Arboretum in Bad Bergzabern.
