Iris BB 'Maui Surf' 1990 J. Terry Aitken. 6 Stiele, stramme aufrechte, voll mit Knospen, akkurat aufgereiht. Gestern aufgeblüht, ich konnte mich nicht einkriegen und man hätte mich nicht wegkriegen können. Das ist die ultimative Iris! Einfach ein Traum! Woher hab ich sie? Natürlich von Nova Liz. :-* Überaus herzlichen Dank! :-*
Hybridizer J. Terry Aitken - Vancouver, Washington, USA - gemäßigtes Klima, etwas milder als hier, heiße Sommer, frostig nasse Winter in denen der Schnee selten liegen bleibt. Aitken ist ein hoch ausgezeichneter und sehr aktiver Züchter.
Maui Surf - meine Lieblingskrimiautorin Agatha Christie ist dort mit ihrem ersten Mann hängen geblieben, sie waren süchtig nach Surfen. Bis zur Erschöpfung waren sie im Wasser.
So, hier das erste. So sah das aus, als ich in den Garten kam.

Details auf der Blüte werden klarer, die Aderung auf den Hängeblättern. Der zartblau bis weiße Bart, der nur ganz tief im Schlund gelb angehaucht ist. Nichts stört dieses Blau!

ich hab sie aber auch gepäppelt und es sieht so aus als ob ich den Dreh raus hab, nach 20 Jahren. Mit einem Boden auf dem keine Iris wachsen. ;D
