Statt Iris danfordiae wird Iris winogradowii als Ersatz für eine frühblühende gelbe Zwiebeliris empfohlen. Ich habe mal etwas im Forum gesucht:
@ StaudoIch wollte dir schon länger mal den Tipp geben, es mal statt mit I. danfordiae mit Iris winogradowii zu probieren, sie ist quasi das gelbe Gegenstück zu Iris histrioides und genau so robust. Nur leider noch etwas teuer, aber der Zuwachs ist beachtlich, nach drei Jahren hab ich fürnf blühfähige Pflanzen und einiges an Jungvolk. Ist evtl. ein Versuch wert.
Bei mir bleiben die Iris danfordiae auf einem Beet und vermehren sich sogar. Die weinstädter werde ich mir ebenso wie die 'Clairette' für eine sommerliche Preisanfrage notieren. Das muss ich gleich machen. Sonst vergesse ich es wieder ...

Ich pflanze jedes Jahr 500 Blumenzwiebeln einer Sorte in den Garten. 'Clairette' ist ab sofort in der engeren Auswahl für diesen Sommer.
das mit der einen neuen Sorten pro Jahr ist verdammt vernünftig!

meine habe ich gerade heute ausgebuddelt und Elro geschenkt. Selten bekommt man sie bei Gewiehs und meine waren eine Fehllieferung von Nijssen. Nicht so wüchsig und nicht so schnell bestockend wie andere, aber kommen brav wieder.

Dieser Tage bekam ich 10 Zwiebeln I. winogradowii und 250 Stück 'Clairette' geschickt. Morgen werden sie gesteckt.

hier meine Iris histrioides 'George' dieses Jahr. Pünktlich zum Namenstag St. Georgs! Außerdem ist George ein so schöner Name, weil die Pflanzen ursprünglich aus Georgien kommen.

Dann finde ich dies hier ganz bezaubernd. Die dicke Heupackung passt Katharina Hodgkins ausgezeichnet. An Plätzen ohne Heu beliebt sie nicht zu blühen. Iris histrioides 'Katharina Hodgkins'.
