alle Galanthus wachsen gut in lehmigem Boden. Walrus wächst gut in Lösslehm und hier in saurem Lehm. Es ist ein Galanthus nivalis, also brauch es keinen sehr trockenen und sonnigen Standort. Es wächst bloß sehr langsam und bestockt sich nicht rasend schnell.

Ich habe selbst erst angefangen, und würde sagen: Nimm ein billiges. Die empfohlenen Anfängersorten sind eh meist billig, weil sie robust sind und sich gut vermehren, was dann den Preis sinken lässt. Das Verhältnis zwischen Preis und Qualität ist ein anderes als bei künstlich hergestellten Produkten.

Ich wünsche mir bei jedem Verkäufer den Zusatz, ‚wir haben einen wüchsigen Klon‘. ;) Mal schauen, ob mich ‚Walrus‘ mit seinem Charme kriegt. Bei der „White Lady“ bleibe ich erstmal zuversichtlich, starke Zwiebel, viele Wurzeln (ausser die Fliege ginge dazwischen).
